COMMITTEE

INCUBATOR COMMITTEE

Incubator is overseen by a rotating committee of 6 randomly chosen community members

The committee has institutional power to make decisions on behalf of the community.

What is Incubator Committee?

The committee is 6-person body that meets in person at Incubator House monthly to share their thoughts and collectively make decisions on behalf of the community.

Incubator is dedicated to the concept of a democratically-run community. That’s why we’ve chosen to give final say to its members.

Who sits on the committee?

Committee members are decided by lottery. Everyone on Incubator’s mailing list is automatically entered into the lottery.

Every month, someone from the mailing list is selected at random and given the option to serve a 6 month term on the committee.

How does the selection process work?

Those chosen to serve are notified 45 days before their term start date and given 72 hours to accept or decline the invite.

Every month, a new member joins the committee and the most senior member leaves.

Committee members who serve any portion of a term must wait 3 years after the start of their term to be eligible to serve on the committee again.
