Incubator is an artist-owned music incubator in Washington, D.C.
Based out of Incubator House in Petworth, Incubator uplifts unknown artists through hosting performances, education and publishing music.
Since 2024, Incubator has brought musicians together with free programming.
Generator – An open party and jam every first Friday where the best jam gets turned into a song.
Incubator Academy – 3-month courses designed to help musicians make music with less effort.
Accelerator – Musicians form bands to write, record and perform original music at Incubator House.
Members get access to more events and a say in decision-making. There are currently ~70 members of Incubator.
Incubator strives to be a democratic, egalitarian collective. Incubator is collectively owned by its artists and all financials are public.
